Highland Folk Museum

Enjoy one of Scotlands open-air museums and visit The Highland Folk Museum.  This is a super museum to see what life was like for the people of the Highlands from the 1700s up until the 1960s.

The series Outlander used the museum’s replica 18th-century Highland crofts are – shown when Claire joins Dougal and his followers on their task to collect rent from the clan’s tenants.

This Scottish visitor attraction is based just down the road from Inverness in Newtonmore in Badenoch and Strathspey in the Scottish Highlands.
