From November onwards, Inverness and Loch Ness burst into seasonal life with artisan markets, sparkling lights, independent shops full of one-of-a-kind gifts, and wintery wanders wrapped up in some of Scotland’s most spectacular scenery.
We have created this easy, bite-sized guide to visiting at this magical time of year!
Gift Shopping!
Christmas shopping here feels slower, friendlier, and full of makers whose work truly captures the spirit of the Highlands. We’re big champions of local independent businesses, producers, artists and creators. In the run-up to Christmas, you’ll find them dotted throughout festive markets, craft fairs, and their shops across Inverness and Loch Ness.
And if you’re not visiting during the festive season, don’t worry. A locally made gift is still a lovely way to bring a bit of the Highlands home. It’s the perfect reminder of your trip, or a brilliant way to spark excitement for someone planning their own visit soon.
