The Inverness Highland Games are Back

City of inverness Highland Games

After two years of cancellations thanks to the pandemic, we're delighted that The Inverness Highland Games are back on July 16th at Bught Park, inverness. Not only is it exciting to see the games returning, this year's event lets us mark an extra special birthday.

This year the Inverness Highland Games are celebrating their two-hundredth anniversary. Since they were founded in 1822 the meeting has been one of Scotland's premier highland games, and this year promises to be better than ever.

The games afford us all the opportunity to get together from far and wide to enjoy these traditional and competitive events alongside the music and culture of this part of the world. Look forward to the classic events like Highland dancing, caber tossing, strongest man and women events, piping competitions, haggis hurling and everything besides.

As well as all the competitive events we expect there will also be some of the finest local food and drink retailers, alongside numerous retail stalls showcasing some of the finest crafts and produce from the north of Scotland.

The games are delivered by High Life Highland on behalf of The Highland Council's Inverness Events and Festivals Working Group and tickets are available now. As are entry forms if you are keen on competing in one of the events yourself.

We can't wait to see some familiar local faces alongside visitors from across Scotland and beyond for an unbeatable family-friendly day of competition and colour.
