Convention Bureau Lead
Visit Inverness Loch Ness is launching a brand-new Convention Bureau Lead role, and this isn't a case of stepping into someone else's shoes. No inherited playbook, just a blank page and a genuine mandate to shape how Inverness and Loch Ness competes for conferences, meetings and business events on the national and international stage.
We're creating something that's been missing from our destination since 2014 and we need the right person to build it from the ground up. If you're commercially minded, relationship-driven, and excited by the idea of building a business function rather than maintaining one, we'd love to hear from you.
What you'll be doing:
🎯 Establishing the Inverness Convention Bureau proposition from scratch
🤝 Building a Highlands Conference Ambassador Programme with leaders across health, energy, academia and innovation
📈 Developing a pipeline of conference and business event opportunities
🌍 Representing the Highlands at trade events and on the international stage
💷 Creating sustainable income streams and strategic partnerships
The details:
📍 Based at Inverness Town House
⏰ 20 hours/week to start with, real scope to grow into a full-time role as the Bureau develops
💰 £34,000-£37,000 pro rata
✅ Pension, 28 days annual leave + 9 public holidays pro rata, flexible/hybrid working, professional development, and the chance to represent the Highlands nationally and internationally
This is a role for someone who wants to leave a mark, not just secure conferences, but build a lasting function that drives economic impact across the Highlands for years to come.
