Trail riding and training for experienced equestrians ONLY beside Loch Ness

Loch Ness Riding

Loch Ness Riding takes experienced riders for hacks and lessons, either privately or in small groups. A small cohort of quality, well schooled horses of 15 to 16 hands are kept at our yard where we offer trailrides for visitors who are competent in all gaits in the classical style. I am afraid we do not cater for western riders. We have a strict weight limit of 13 1/2 st as some of our terrain is quite demanding and these are not walking rides - we trot and canter where the terrain is suitable. Our horses are Andalusian, Arab, TB and Irish sport horses.

Most hacking takes place in morning and for visitors this is usually for 2 or 3 hrs though full days may be available on some days. We are closed on Sundays.

We are a training and assessment centre for BHS exams from Stage 2 to Stage 4 so are able to offer further training for riders on the flat and over fences if they are already competent in jumping. We do NOT teach beginner and novice riders.

Advance booking is essential. Payments can be taken by Stripe invoice in advance for hacks for foreign visitors or by bank transfer from British banks.
