New Inverness Fringe Festival Launches This Autumn – 

Adding Extra Spark to Your Visit

This September 28th to October 4th, Inverness will host its very first dedicated Inverness Fringe Festival – a vibrant week of creativity, performance, and Highland flair right in the heart of the city.

Inverness Fringe celebrates raw, exciting and diverse performing arts, including theatre, comedy, live music, dance, cabaret, spoken word, poetry and more. Created to give emerging local talent – including students and independent artists from the Highlands – a proper platform, the festival will take place in the city’s unique, intimate and characterful venues.

Visitors can expect a lively, inclusive atmosphere where locals and tourists mingle. With a mix of 25 ticketed events and plenty of free performances and activities, there will be something for everyone throughout the week. The programme is being developed in partnership with the University of the Highlands and Islands (UHI), local dance companies, theatre groups, comedy clubs, musicians, independent venues and arts organisations.

A highlight of the festival will be the new themed trails – Gallery Trails, Distillery Trails and Experience Trails – which will guide visitors through the city centre, connecting performances with Inverness’s fantastic galleries, distilleries, cafés and independent businesses.

Whether you’re planning a short break or already visiting the Highlands, the Inverness Fringe offers a wonderful reason to spend extra time in the city. It’s the perfect blend of world-class creativity and warm Highland hospitality – and a fantastic new addition to Inverness & Loch Ness’s vibrant autumn events calendar.

The Inverness Fringe Festival aims to become an annual celebration that showcases the very best of the city’s spirit, talent and cultural energy.
