Based in Inverness, the Ironworks has been open since 2006. It holds around 150 shows a year and hosts a range of music genres – from nurturing up and coming local arts to more established acts – as well as sporting events, comedy and conferences.
With a capacity of 1,000, the Ironworks is one of the biggest venues in the Highlands and Islands. Independently run by Venue Director Caroline Campbell, and a committed team, the venue has recently introduced staging to allow the venue to set up for a more intimate performance which would host 300. It also cements the venue’s reputation as a supporter of emerging talent as it provides a smaller capacity option for those on the road to making it.
Morrissey, Mumford & Sons, Primal Scream, Amy MacDonald, Twin Atlantic, Belle & Sebastian, Paul Van Dyk, Felix Da Housecat, You Me At Six, Bastille, Public Service Broadcasting, Years & Years and Future Islands have all graced the Ironworks stage in recent years.
