The Hotel is located within walking distance of Loch Ness and the Fort Augustus Caledonian Canal Lock where you can see the pleasure and work boats traverse from Loch Ness through the village and out past the local Golf Course.

The village also has interesting shops, fashion, delectables, woollen shop, Post Office, ATMs, Grocery, Home Hardware store, Bike Hire, and an excellent Glass Blower who makes world renowned Whisky Pipets.
