Join Us! Opt-In Membership of Inverness & Loch Ness Tourism BID
If your business is not included in the Tourism BID and you are not paying a levy collected on behalf of the BID by Highland Council, but you wish to be part of it and enjoy the benefits of membership, you can ‘opt-in’ by paying an annual membership fee direct to Visit Inverness Loch Ness.
Unlike a levy payer, as an ‘Opt–In’ member you are not tied in to paying your membership fee for the five year duration of the Tourism BID. However, this means that although the needs of your business and/or sector will be represented at Board level, ‘Opt–In’ members will not have a vote on Board decisions.
Listed below are details of the costs and categories of ‘Opt-In’ membership and how to apply.
Cost and Categories of Opt-In Membership:
Opt in Membership categories and annual fees (including vat) are as follows:
1. Tourism Businesses with a non-domestic rateable value below £2,000
Fee *£160 (£3.08 per week)
2. Tourism Businesses who do not pay non-domestic rates
Fee is based on turnover
3. Tourism Businesses who pay non-domestic rates above £2,000 but are based out with the area/sectors included in the Tourism BID.
The fee will be determined using the same bandings as that of levy paying businesses outlined in the Business Plan
* Subject to Board agreement. In the few instances where the business is clearly of a large scale they will be expected to pay a fee commensurate with those of equivalent sized levy payers.
The membership year is from 1st April – 31st March. Any business joining during the year will therefore be charged pro rata.
