Inverness Film Festival to Focus on Adventure
The 13th annual Inverness Film Festival kicks off in the Highland capital tonight with the Scottish premiere of John Crowley’s critically acclaimed Brooklyn at Eden Court Theatre, which marks the beginning of a five-day film frenzy for cinema fans in the city.
2015 Inverness Film Festival has Jam-Packed Programme
The theme of the 2015 Inverness Film Festival is adventure, and the programme is jam packed with movies that show the lives of people who are, in the words of festival director Paul MacDonald: “Brave enough to move away from their comfort zones and embark on an adventure, whether that be by choice or circumstance.”
Audiences will be transported from Iona to Algeria and Berlin to Bucharest as that amazing packed programme of dramas and documentaries arrives on the screens of Inverness’s flagship Eden Court Theatre Complex.
Eden Court Film Festival Offers Immersive Audio Experience
And there will even be a brand new immersive audio experience on offer, where the audience will be asked to don blindfolds and surrender themselves to the soundtrack of the Carnival of Souls - a spine chilling binaural surround sound experience performed in near darkness.
Visitors to the screenings will also play a key role in deciding the winner of the Inverness Film Festival’s audience award – an accolade decided solely by festival goers with no intervention from organisers or panels.
Festival Organisers Proud of International Influence
“Please remember to vote for our Audience Award,” said Paul MacDonald “We don’t have juries or committees for our award, the winner is completely up to you [and] we take great pride in knowing that a little piece of our festival has taken up residence in all corners of the globe.”
