Ah, where better to spend Hogmanay than in the Highlands of Scotland!

Whether you choose to stay in a cozy cottage overlooking Loch Ness or prefer a hotel or guest house in the bright lights of Inverness, the Highlands are best for the music, the craic and warmth of welcome! Inverness has the perfect Hogmanay 2017 packages for you! See our accommodation options here, where most of our hotels will be running New Year Hotel Packages. What’s more we really know how to celebrate a Scottish New Year.

Scottish New Year Celebrations in Inverness

So, what’s happening at Hogmanay this year? Where is the best place to be at the bells?

Well, if you are in Inverness most people will be at the ‘Red Hot Highland Fling’, Scotland’s biggest and most spectacular FREE Hogmanay party! This year featuring bands Skipinnish, Skerymore and Ho-Ro it promises a Hogmanay night to remember. However, if you prefer the warmth of the indoors, what about Bogmanay, 7pm -2am at Bogbain Farm just outside Inverness – great food, ceilidh dancing and live bands. For more details about these and other Hogmanay events check out What’s on Highlands for more information on all.

New Year’s Walking the Scottish Highlands

And what about on New Year’s Day, a gentle walk perhaps around Torr Woods at Dores on the shores of Loch Ness or perhaps an invigorating, soul-lifting 10 mile walk around Loch Affric. Glen Affric walks really are not to be missed!

On a crisp winter’s day there is no better and more beautiful walk in Scotland! For more suggestions see our Scottish walking page.

Scottish Holiday Retreats

Then again perhaps this is all a bit ‘too active’ after the eve’s celebrations? Looking for a New Year’s day retreat? If all you wish to do is just curl up with a good book and a New Year dram, we have it covered. Snuggle up in our cosy cabins and cottages, or sneak off to a toasty restaurant fireplace to relax.

Whatever you do at Hogmanay this year, a Hogmanay spent in the Highlands will not disappoint. And remember, if you arrive in the area a couple of days before, all major visitor attractions are open during the day on Hogmanay but not on New Year’s Day.
