Based in Inverness by the Caledonian Canal, Explore Highland offers a wide range of paddlesport activities for all ages, fitness levels and paddler abilities.

Explore Highland trips available:

* Loch Trips - Full day trips available on Lochs Ness, Achilty, Duntelchaig, Oich & Affric
* River Trips - Full day trips available on Rivers Ness, Beauly, Conon, Oich & Moriston
* Sea Trips - Full day trips available on Beauly, Moray & Cromarty Firth

Family groups welcome on Paddle Loch Ness and Loch Trips. All U18's require accompanied by parents. 2017 Planned trips are listed and bookable online.

For experienced paddlers, Explore Highland offers:
* Open Canoe Hire (tandem) - £40, additional days £35 per day
* Touring Kayak Hire (solo) - £35, additional days £30 per day
* Sit on Top Kayak Hire (tandem) - £40, additional days £35 per day
* Sea Kayak Hire (solo) - £35, additional days £30 per day
* Stand Up Paddleboard Hire (solo) - £35, additional days £30 per day
* Other Equipment - including camping & cooking equipment

Hire craft & equipment can be collected/returned from the canal side office in Inverness. A drop off/collection service is available. Buoyancy aids, paddles and other safety equipment inclusive with craft hire. Advance booking required for hire, shuttle and bespoke activities. Hire Terms & Conditions apply.

By car:
Follow directions for A82. After crossing the Friars Street Bridge, follow the signs for A862 along Telford Street crossing the Caledonian Canal. Continue on the A862 straight across the traffic lights onto Clachnaharry Road. Turn right (in approx. 200m) after Blackpark Petrol Station turning into British Waterways signed private car park. (Approx. 8 minutes travel time)

By bike:
Walk down High Street towards river. Cross over the river at Greig Street pedestrian bridge. Turn right and continue walking along Huntly Street and Well Street to Telford Roundabout. Continue along Telford Street crossing the Caledonian Canal. Continue on to Clachnaharry Road. Turn right (in approx. 200m) after Blackpark Petrol Station turning into British Waterways signed private car park. (Approx. 10 minutes travel time)

By foot:
Walk down High Street towards river. Cross over the river at Greig Street pedestrian bridge. Turn right and continue walking along Huntly Street and Well Street to Telford Roundabout. Continue along Telford Street, crossing the Caledonian Canal. Immediately on crossing canal swing bridge, turn right through gate and follow the towpath for 800m. (Approx. 31 minutes travel time)

By public transport:
307 Service from Farraline Bus Station (every 90 mins) to opposite Clachnaharry Inn. Walk 200m back towards Inverness. (Approx. 10 minutes bus/ 1 minute walking)

8A Service from Farm Foods, Academy Street (every 20 mins) to Firthview Avenue. Walk down Scorguie Road and turn left onto Clachnaharry Road at Blackpark Petrol Station. (Approx. 7 minutes bus/ minutes walking)
