Highland folk duo Carma are becoming a trio in 2018 with the addition of a brand new drummer to the line-up, coinciding with the release of new single!

The band was formed in 2016 by lead vocalist/ukulele player Carmen Beaton and keys/vocalist Kenna Ross whilst the duo were students in Aberdeen. Carma are now joined by drummer Fergus Bryce an experienced player in many styles and a member of the Glasgow Police Band.

On March 30th the band will release new single “A&G” on iTunes, Spotify and all good digital platforms, the single has been recorded Shackstudios in Nairn.
"We wrote the song whist filming another music video at the ruins just outside Nairn” said Carmen “The ruins had the initials A and G so we took that and made a story from it”.

“We are super excited to release A&G our most upbeat single so far!” Said Kenna “The song is a secret love story with driving rhythm and it’s been great fun recording this at Shackstudios”.

To promote the release the band are playing the following shows:

Saturday February 24th - Groove Cairngorm
Thursday March 1st - Mad Hatters, Inverness (Supporting NIEVES) 7.30 pm
Thursday March 29th - Broadcast, Glasgow 7 pm
Sunday April 1st - The Seaforth Club, Nairn 2 pm
Sunday April 1st - Hootananny, Inverness 9.30 pm

The band play self-penned alternative folk songs with harmonies, piano and ukulele. After touring their first EP in 2017, the female duo played a range of festivals including Belladrum, Celtic Connections and XpoNorth, performed on TV for the first time with a slot on STV2’s Live at Five show and secured a prestigious support slot at Glasgow’s Hug and Pint. With the new line-up and exciting new music, the band is ready to hit the road again in 2018.
