Details

Loch Ness Shores - the name says it all! A camping and caravanning site located on the stunning and quieter south side of Loch Ness. It was listed as a ‘hidden secret’ in 2014 by the Lonely Planet. One of the few spots with easy access to the water, it’s the perfect location whether you are looking for a tranquil or active holiday, glamping or just a spot of Nessie hunting.

Since opening in 2013 this site has gained 5* Accreditation and a Green Tourism Gold Award from VisitScotland and was named as both Scotland’s Holiday Park and Eco-friendly ‘Loo of the Year’ for 2015.

Searching for ‘Loch Ness Shores Reviews’ reveals outstanding reviews and 5* customer ratings:

• ‘I find it hard to imagine a better campsite’.
• ‘We were given a wonderful welcome and thoroughly looked after’.
• ‘We stayed in a Wigwam Cabin. It was very spacious, had everything we needed.’

Situated close to the South Loch Ness Trail, the local area offers a plethora of paths suitable for walking, cycling and horse-riding, along with water-based activities. Canoe and boat hire with fishing licenses are available on site.

A haven for wildlife, red squirrels, pine martins, otters, wild goats and deer are most frequently spotted by visitors. The RSPB identified over 40 species of wild birds on site.

The area has everything you need; with the on-site shop specialising in local food, and the local pub, village shop and two other cafes just a beautiful walk away. The nearest town is Inverness.

Fans of Diana Gabaldon and the Amazon Prime show Outlander will be interested to know that the site is just a few minutes walk from where the real life Jamie Fraser, the Dun Bonnet, lived, and makes an excellent base from which to visit the location of many of the events in the books.
